Metamorphosis Closing Walkthrough & Concert 

Join us to celebrate a successful run of our Summer exhibition, Metamorphosis: Emerging from the Dark, with an exhibition walkthrough with the curator of Metamorphosis, Director of Arts and Administration, Julia Kemerer followed by a free outdoor concert! The concert will showcase Joel Styzens’ newest contemporary album Resonance, featuring cellist Herine Coetzee Koschak, and violinist, Jinty McTavish, as well as brand new music. 

Joel Styzens is a critically-acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, composer, recording artist, educator and hearing conservation advocate. Styzens creates intimate, colorfully-rich music that is presented in an accessible form that encourages pause, refection and helps people to de-noise, relax, soothe, and recharge. His newest album, Resonance, was named a “Top 10 best contemporary album of 2023” by The Guardian. The BBC calls it “open-hearted” and NPR says, “Phenomenal music.”.

3-4:30pm | Outdoor Concert with Joel Styzens, Herine Coetzee Koschak, and Jinty McTavish

​The concert will take place outside, on the front porch of Brushwood Center. Please bring a chair or blanket and plan for outdoor weather. Rain location will be in The Great Room.
