The Little Explorer’s Backpack Check out a backpack at a partnering library and explore!
Nature can be an exciting and thrilling experience for all, but sometimes it can be hard to know where to start.
Since 2020, Brushwood Center has distributed over 5,000 Nature Explorer backpacks to youth and families across Lake County, filled with art and nature supplies to help families get started.
These backpacks have received a rave response from our partners and participants, and we wanted to keep the excitement going all year long. That’s why we partnered with libraries across Lake County to create the Little Explorer’s Backpack, filled with new and thrilling activities for families to enjoy. Whether you’re a nature expert or just starting out, we’re sure you’ll discover the Little Explorer inside of you!
Research shows that time outside is crucial for human health and learning, leading to reduced anxiety and depression, increased attention span and social-emotional skills, and even improved test scores and academic performance.
