Meet our Board

Janea D. Harris, M.Ed.
Janea D. Harris, M.Ed. is an author, motivational speaker and community advocate who is dedicated to using her platform to create works that address social justice to both engage and inspire readers. She is the owner of Supherbooks, LLC and her published books include the young adult poetry book, Poetry is My SupHER Power (2023).
Her children’s titles are: Through the Window of Winter the Rabbit (2020) and All Girls Have Sup-HER Powers, The Power of Voice (2019). She is a 2021 nominee for the “Best of the Net,” for her poem entitled, Urban Desert which speaks to the disparities in communities that lack access to quality grocery stores.
Janea is the Co-Founder of Insight Advocacy, an organization whose mission is to create access, inclusion, and visibility for the underrepresented. She is dedicated to positively impacting the Greater Chicago community and in addition to serving as the Co-President/Strategic Partnerships of Insight Advocacy, she also serves on the Boards of Reach Out and Read, IL, 112 Foundation and the City of Highland Park’s Human Relations Advisory Group.
Janea has a creative soul and loves the visual and performing arts, traveling, and spending time with her family. Professionally, she consults in EdTech and has spent over 18 years as a teacher, adjunct instructor, and Implementation Manager of Educational Technology. Janea holds a Bachelor’s in Business
Administration from Mercer University and a Master of Education from Notre Dame College.
