AT EASE VETERANS PROGRAM - BRUSHWOOD CENTER AT RYERSON WOODS:
Brushwood Center supports military veterans through restorative, nature-based art workshops, called At Ease. Research shows that time in nature reduces stress, anxiety, and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, and our participants’ stories provide further evidence. The simple act of learning how to photograph nature has changed the lives of At Ease participants. Brushwood Center partners with the Lovell Veterans Health Care Facility to offer these monthly programs for veterans. Nestled in 565 acres of pristine woodland, Brushwood Center’s mission is to provide deep and meaningful experiences in nature to cultivate creativity, nurture wellbeing, and inspire learning through the arts.
CHALLENGED ATHLETES FOUNDATION CAF’s Operation Rebound® program strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and fi rst responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fi tness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports. Through Operation Rebound specifi c grant requests and sport clinics, CAF is there to support our service members from Frontline to Finish line.
